When the pizza cravings hit, I’m reminded that I live in one of the pizza capitals of the U.S. Making our way into Manhattan, from Brooklyn, my boyfriend and I found this cozy spot on St. Mark’s Place called Crispiano. The name is actually quite fitting.
The Main Feature
While Crispiano does offer a wide range of menu items, their pizza is undoubtedly the star of the show. Soon as I took that first bite of their margherita pizza, it was nothing but pure crispy, delicious, cheesy heaven. We also had an order of their “Burrat e Prosciutto di Parma” that delivered the same amount of crispy texture that balanced the softness of the prosciutto di parma and fresh tomato, topped with olive oil.
Other Notable Menu Offerings
Beyond pizza, their pasta game is also strong. Perfectly al dente, my boyfriend enjoyed his appropriately portioned plate of spaghetti and meatballs. I also balanced out the carbs with a plate of their “Kale e Avocado” salad that was topped with a delicious lemon dressing!
In regard to beverages, they have a selection of cocktails you can choose from along with the necessities such as sparkling water, soft drinks and even espresso or cappuccino for those needing a hot, caffeine boost.
Overall, the attentive and friendly service, along with the delicious bites and sips, make for a great dinner date destination or day/night out with family or friends. If I had to mention where improvements could be made, however, I’d love to have more spacing between the tables. It did get pretty busy during the time we went, and maneuvering out of the booth seating was a bit tight.
All in all, Crispiano definitely hit the spot. 🍕🍕
