Cafe Chili BK: Did Somebody Say “Date Night?”

Date nights are crucial for maintaining and strengthening relationships. For my boyfriend and I, we try our best to make sure we’re spending quality time outside our apartment every week–however our schedules see fit, of course. This past week, we took a quick commute to Cobble Hill in Brooklyn for a chill dinner date.

Nestled in this adorable neighborhood, not too far from Brooklyn Bridge park, is Café Chili, a beautiful Thai restaurant serving lunch, dinner, and their special “Thai Afternoon Tea Experience.” This delectable array of treats and sweet Thai tea was a perfect way to cap off the evening. While we enjoyed this unique display of Thai desserts, this entire arrangement is also available as a standalone experience!

Even before we walked inside, the outdoor ambiance was inviting, and we were automatically met with a radiant welcome from the host. The manager that evening also made it a point to introduce himself and get us settled into our seats. His conversational approach throughout the evening, as he introduced each dish to us, created an atmosphere that was inviting and comfortable. It truly felt like we were being hosted at a family friend’s house.

Even when we asked about certain dishes or drinks, they took their time to not only explain what they were but give a personal backstory of why they, personally, love the dish or beverage.

From the appetizing spicy wings, to the juicy spare ribs with garlic rice, and the refreshing mango bubble tea, Chili BK exceeded expectations. The bold, delicious flavors and scents satisfied every palate!

What I appreciated most, however, was how we were enveloped in a warmth that transcended typical dining hospitality.  The attentiveness we received throughout the night wasn’t mechanical or rehearsed. It carried a level of sincerity that made us feel genuinely cared for, transforming our dining experience from a simple meal into an intimate, nurturing encounter that felt like breaking bed with extended family.

Some of the items we ordered are listed below, and I’ve provided a direct link to their website and Instagram page as well – so you, too, can savor the experience!

Appetizers: Thai Wings

Chef’s Signature Dish: Spare Rib with Garlic Rice + Nightingale Nest
